Haven't done any new paintings in a while, but right before I left for Easter I finished another lino block. I think my favorite thing about printing by hand is that I can keep it light on the edges and darker in the middle. I'm finding that the harder, thinner lino makes for a better, more detailed print if you can ink it right, so that it transfers correctly.
I think about how this new skill could be useful to travelers, but I'm not so sure. It seems to cheapen the experience if you are trying to sell goods wherever you go. And in poor countries you'd be competing with the locals and their souvenirs. But for an artist on the gulf coast of the US, there isn't much competition in the area of souvenir postcards, or even local art for that matter, th
